MGMT, Connecticut's sensational neo psychedelia artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Hollywood Palladium!

MGMT was formed in Middletown (Connecticut) in 2002 by Ben Goldwasser (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, drums, and percussion) and Andrew Van Wyngarden (vocals, keyboards, guitar, and percussion). Their musical style is best described as a blend of neo psychedelia (a diverse style of music - originating in the 1970s as an outgrowth of the British post punk scene – that borrowed a variety of elements from 1960s psychedelic music and emphasized the cryptic margins of avant-rock, incorporating evanescent textures over an immutable bassline, producing a heavy metallic ambience), indie pop (a sub genre of alternative/indie rock originating in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and differing from indie rock to the extent that it’s more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst free), and indie electronic (a sub genre of alternative/indie rock with affinity for electronic music, using samplers, synthesizers, drum machines, and computer programs). They’ve had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 1 compilation albums, 4 extended plays, 11 singles, 14 music videos, 4 NME Awards (for Best Breakthrough Track, Best Track, Best Album, and Best New Band), and a Grammy Award (for Best New Artist). Their latest album (Little Dark Age) comes out in February 2018.
